How We Treat Substance AbuseAt Riverwalk Ranch, we take the time to learn about each individual and their recovery goals so that we can formulate the most effective treatment plan possible.
Levels of Care
Our Medically Monitored Intensive Inpatient Services Withdrawal Management for adults provides 24-hour nursing care with a physician on-site to handle significant problems. Counseling is also available 16 hours a day. Clients in this level of care may have a recent history of withdrawal management at a less intensive level of care, marked by past and current inability to complete withdrawal management and enter into continuing addiction treatment, and may require medication.
Riverwalk Ranch is the appropriate setting for clients with subacute biomedical and emotional, behavioral, or cognitive problems that require inpatient treatment. Our detoxification process takes place in a safe, home-like environment where clients receive integrative medical care. Our prescribing doctors’ aim is to keep our clients as comfortable as possible during their medical detox.
Visitors at Riverwalk Ranch are greeted by warm, welcoming staff in a large residential facility. Clients undergoing onsite treatment are required to live in our comforting residential facility. Residential treatment is appropriate for clients who still need the support of an inpatient program, with a focus on both medical and clinical services. To provide the most effective and thorough treatment for long-term recovery, Riverwalk divides clients into smaller, comprehensive groups, allowing for focused attention and tailored treatment based on the individual needs of each client. Placement is based on age, substance abuse history, and other factors which may affect the recovery process, such as co-occurring mental health issues.
Our drug and alcohol residential treatment programs focus on individualized client care. Riverwalk Ranch clients will participate in various types of group, individual, and recreational therapies. This includes participating in social events, activities, therapies, and various other treatments throughout the day, designed to help clients overcome their addictions. Our clinical staff designs individual treatment plans for the specific needs of each client. At Riverwalk Ranch, clients have a full daily schedule that includes therapy, activities and meetings, healthy meals, and rest periods. The structure and stability of this routine helps to restore the mind and body to a healthy state. We are proud to provide a safe, peaceful atmosphere that is conducive to recovery. Residents here get to practice skills that will help them remain healthy and sober for the rest of their lives.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
This level of care typically provides 20 hours or more of service a week for multidimensional instability that does not require 24-hour care. The PHP program does still offer onsite housing and access to staff 24 hours a day. Generally, PHP is for clients that have completed the detoxification program. Clients at Riverwalk Ranch have access to all therapies, counseling, and aftercare support, for a minimum of six hours per day, five days per week. Partial hospitalization treatment is the most intensive form of outpatient care.
Although this can vary from client to client, most individuals in partial hospitalization programs participate in treatment five days per week, which shows just how similar the intensity of a partial hospitalization program can be to a traditional inpatient program. However, while we do offer residential accommodations to individuals in inpatient care, clients participating in our partial hospitalization program also have access to residential accommodations upon request.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Outpatient rehabilitation therapy allows recovering addicts to continue receiving medical and psychiatric treatment and to establish healthy coping strategies learned during inpatient treatment. Our intensive outpatient program is ideal for recovering addicts and alcoholics seeking structure and support in their current environments. To accommodate all schedules, Riverwalk Ranch offers flexible scheduling that allow clients to tend to their daily responsibilities while getting the treatment they need to remain clean and sober. Recovering clients visit Riverwalk Ranch’s Outpatient Center three to five days of the week for cognitive behavioral therapy, pharmacological therapy, family therapy, and life coaching. Riverwalk Ranch allows clients to get long-term recovery support while continuing to live within the community. We also encourage family participation, individual counseling sessions, group therapy, and life skill workshops that are focused on working through the 12 Steps, as well as accountability and relapse prevention, all conducive to sober living.
When you arrive at Riverwalk Ranch you’ll undergo a comprehensive medical and psychological evaluation that looks at your substance abuse history, co-occurring mental health disorders, and ongoing medical issues. This initial assessment ensures that you receive a customized care that will effectively address your needs. In our treatment program, you’ll work with a primary therapist and multidisciplinary team to collaborate on your individualized treatment plan, focusing on your interpersonal strengths, rehabilitation needs, assessments, and preferences. Your customized treatment schedule is revisited throughout the program stay to look at your treatment progression and to make sure your level of care is still clinically appropriate.
